The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and best of all…the snow is melting!
The long winters in our part of the country tend to build a certain character within us. I actually believe that it makes us tougher than most and more able to withstand and overcome adversity.
How this relates to our art-making practice, I’m not entirely sure, except that it allows us a lot more time for dabbling and reflection on those cold, snowy days. I must say that I am overjoyed though and welcome the change of seasons with open arms. Much of my inspiration to create moves outdoors where I can really spread out and splash some paint around. This need to create also extends into my landscape palette as well. A little dash of red over there by the berry bush, a chunk of blue under the willow…….silver bells, and cockle shells….oh how happy I will be!
